Pixar is developing the third film in the animated franchise “Monsters Inc.” This was reported by The Wall Street Journal in an article dedicated to the new Pixar film “Jumpers”.
The first part of “Monsters Inc.” was released in 2001. The film was directed by current Pixar creative director Pete Docter. The plot centers on the monsters Mike Wazowski and James P. “Sully” Sullivan, who work for a company that produces energy from children’s fears.
The main characters were voiced by Billy Crystal and John Goodman. The film became a commercial success, grossing $528.7 million worldwide.
Later, the story continued in the form of a prequel, “Monsters University,” released in 2013. In 2021, the Disney+ streaming platform also premiered the series Monsters at Work, which lasted two seasons.
The studio has not yet revealed details about the upcoming project. It is not known who will direct the new film, what the plot will be, or whether the voice actors from the previous installments will return.
