Qatar Airways increased its net profit by 28% to a record 7.8 billion riyals ($2.1 billion) in the fiscal year ended March 2024, the state-owned airline said in a statement.
The airline expects strong demand for air travel in the near future. The company’s revenue grew by 6% over the year and amounted to 86 billion riyals.
Qatar Airways served more than 43 million people, up 7.8% year-on-year. Transportation capacity increased by 4%.
Last fiscal year, Qatar Airways bought a 25% stake in Virgin Australia and a similar stake in South African Airlink.
