The son of Hollywood movie star Robert De Niro, Aaron, has announced his transition – the 29-year-old has publicly announced that he has become a transgender woman. Irene, the new name of De Niro’s offspring, told Them in an interview that she felt like a stranger in her own body for a long time, especially when she noticed her difference from family members, where everyone was either slim or athletic. In Irene’s words, she felt like a “white crow.”
Irene started hormone therapy in November 2024. She was motivated to take such a decisive step by other trans women, particularly black women.
The girl admitted that her family accepted her coming out of high school when she announced her homosexuality.
Now Irene is pursuing a career in film and modeling, and with that, she wants to be “an inspiration to at least one other person like me. For a black, queer person who doesn’t wear a small size.”
By the way, Irene has a twin brother, Julian, born in 1995 to actress Tookie Smith and Robert De Niro, who is currently the father of seven children from different women.
