Samsung surpassed Apple in smartphone sales

Samsung shares plunge to lowest level in more than 4 years

Samsung regained its top spot among smartphone manufacturers in the second quarter of 2025.

According to an IDC report, the company shipped 58 million smartphones from April to June, representing an increase of almost 8% compared to the same period last year (53.8 million).

Samsung’s market share reached 20%. Despite a slight decline compared to the first quarter of 2025 (60 million smartphones), the company strengthened its position thanks to the successful sales of the affordable Galaxy A series.

Apple took second place with 46.4 million iPhones shipped. This represents a 1.5% increase over the same period last year. However, compared to the previous quarter, the figures have declined significantly.

Analysts believe that many users are refraining from buying, waiting for new models to be released in the fall.

Third place went to Xiaomi, with 42.5 million smartphones, accounting for 14.4% of the market. Next came Vivo (27.1 million, 9.2%) and Transsion with its Infinix, Itel, and Tecno brands (25.1 million, 9.2%).
