The Shazam music recognition service has become available directly in ChatGPT. Now users can identify songs directly in the chat, without opening a separate application on their phone.
To use the new feature, you first need to connect Shazam to the chatbot via the Apps page in ChatGPT. After that, the service can be called directly during a chat to identify the song playing nearby.
To do this, users can write a query, for example: “Shazam, what’s playing?” or “Shazam, what song is this?” After that, a special window will appear in the chat; click it to launch the music recognition service.
After launching, Shazam will listen to a fragment of the song that is playing, and ChatGPT will display the result in the chat. The user will see the song title, the artist’s name, and the album cover. There will also be an opportunity to save the found track to Shazam.
The feature will work even if the Shazam app is not installed on the device. This means that users can use the music recognition service directly through ChatGPT, which can be convenient, for example, when there is not enough free memory on the phone to install additional applications.
Shazam integration has already begun rolling out gradually in ChatGPT for users in different countries. The feature is now available on iOS and Android devices, as well as in the web version of the service.
