On the night of March 16, the Oscars ceremony took place. The film “One Battle After Another” won the most awards this year – the film won six statuettes, including a nomination for “Best Picture”.
In the “Best Actress” category, the winner was Jessie Buckley for her role in the film “Hamnet”. The award for best actor was received by Michael B. Jordan for his work in the film “Sinners”.
The statuette for “Best Supporting Actress” was received by Amy Madigan for the film “Guns”. In the “Best Supporting Actor” category, Sean Penn won for his role in the film “One Battle After Another”.
The award for best director was received by Paul Thomas Anderson for his work on the film “One Battle After Another”.
The Best Animated Feature Film category was won by K-Pop Demon Hunters. The Best International Feature Film award went to Sentimental Value.
The Best Documentary Film category was won by Mr. Nobody vs. Putin.
The Best Original Screenplay award went to Sinners, written by Ryan Coogler. The Best Adapted Screenplay award went to One Battle After Another, written by Paul Thomas Anderson.
The Best Original Song award went to “Golden” from the animated film K-Pop Demon Hunters.
The Best Original Score award went to composer Ludwig Göransson for his work on Sinners.
The following films were awarded in the technical categories:
- Best Cinematography – “Sinners”
- Best Editing – “One Battle After Another”
- Best Sound – “Formula 1”
- Best Visual Effects – “Avatar: Fire and Ashes”
The award for Best Production Design went to “Frankenstein”. The film also won in the categories “Best Makeup and Hairstyle” and “Best Costume Design”.
“One Battle After Another” won in the category “Best Casting”.
Among the short films, the following awards were given:
- Best Animated Short Film – “The Girl Who Cried Pearls”
- Best Fiction Short Film – “The Singers” and “Two People Who Exchange Saliva” (joint victory)
- Best Documentary Short Film – “All the Empty Rooms”
