Designer Simone Bellotti has been appointed as the new creative director of Jil Sander. He will succeed the creative duo of Luc and Lucy Meyer, who announced their leave in February. The designers, who had worked for the brand for eight years, announced their departure after the Milan show.

“Simone comes to this journey with a wealth of experience and unique talent. We share Jil Sander’s strategic vision and mission, the values of innovation and sophistication that make the brand iconic and unique,” said Renzo Rosso, chairman of OTB Group.

Before joining Jil Sander, Bellotti was creative director at Bally. He joined in October 2022 from Gucci, where he spent 16 years in the design studio under the direction of Frida Giannini and Alessandro Michele.

Early in his career, he worked as an assistant to Austrian designer Karol Christian Pähl. Bellotti then held the position of menswear designer at Gianfranco Ferré from 2002 to 2005, as well as senior menswear designer at Bottega Veneta and Dolce & Gabbana.
