Sofia Coppola Presents a Book About Marc Jacobs

Sofia Coppola Presents a Book About Marc Jacobs

The American filmmaker Sofia Coppola has released a book titled “Marc by Sofia,” dedicated to the designer Marc Jacobs. This project was realized with the support of studio A24 and the British publishing house MACK. The book provides a comprehensive analysis of the fashion designer’s professional development, creative journey, and extensive experience in the fashion industry, drawing on both documentary sources and Coppola’s long-standing personal partnership with Jacobs, which spans more than two decades.

This 200-page publication covers career milestones from Marc’s training at Parsons School of Design and his work at Perry Ellis, featuring the resonant grunge collection, to his leadership of the creative department at Louis Vuitton. Significant attention is given to the founding of Jacobs’ own brand and its transformation into an international fashion house.

A prominent section chronicles the meticulous preparation of the 2024 collection themed around paper dolls, encompassing all stages from concept creation to podium presentation. The book also includes unedited dialogues between Sofia Coppola and Marc Jacobs, providing insights into their creative decision-making process.

The publication features unique personal photographs, archival materials, and sketches from the design studio that have never been released before. Its scrapbook-style design reflects the blend of cultural influences and creative ideas characteristic of Jacobs’ work.

The book is now available for purchase at £35 (approximately $47 USD).
