Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Trailer Becomes Most Viewed Trailer Ever

The trailer for Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse has set a record for the most views ever. Within the first 24 hours of its release, the video garnered 718.6 million views, making it the most-viewed trailer ever.

The previous record was held by Deadpool & Wolverine, which had 365 million views. However, Into the Spider-Verse surpassed that mark before the end of its first day: it had 373 million views within eight hours of its release. For comparison, the trailer for Deadpool 3, which debuted at the 2024 Super Bowl, had previously surpassed that of Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), which had 355.5 million views in 24 hours.

The new trailer has become the most viewed not only among movies, but also among video trailers in general. It surpassed the video for the game Grand Theft Auto VI, which gained 475 million views within 24 hours of its release.

Before the full trailer, Sony Pictures released short video clips to draw attention to the release. This is the first film in which Tom Holland returns to the role of Spider-Man since the events of “Spider-Man: Homecoming.” The previous part also starred Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, and the film itself grossed $1.9 billion worldwide.

The film’s premiere is scheduled for July 31.
