British designer Stella McCartney has been awarded one of France’s most prestigious state awards, the Legion of Honor. The award was presented to her by French President Emmanuel Macron at a ceremony at the Louvre in Paris.
The 54-year-old designer was awarded the title of Chevalier of the Order after she presented her brand’s new collection at Paris Fashion Week.
The ceremony was attended by her father, legendary musician Paul McCartney; her husband, Alesdair Willis; her sister, Mary; her brother, James; Stella’s two younger children; as well as French First Lady Brigitte Macron, Anna Wintour, and Oprah Winfrey.
