The 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy are over

The official closing ceremony of the XXV Winter Olympic Games was held in the ancient amphitheater in Verona (Italy). Over 16 days, 116 sets of Olympic medals in 16 sports were awarded in the Italian cities of Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo.

The leader of the medal standings for the fourth time in a row was the Norwegian team, whose athletes won 41 medals – 18 gold, 12 silver, and 11 bronze.

The top three in the team standings also included the USA – 33 medals (12, 12, 9) and the Netherlands – 20 (10, 7, 3). The hosts of the competition, the Italians, came fourth – 30 (10, 6, 14).
