The cinematographer of the film “Sinners,” Autumn Durald, became the first woman to win the Oscar for Best Cinematography. The 98th ceremony was held in Los Angeles on March 15.
This was reported by The Guardian. Autumn Durald is only the fourth woman nominated for the award, and the first black.
Before the Oscar, the cinematographer received several critics’ awards for her work on the film “Sinners” and was also nominated for the BAFTA, Critics’ Choice, and American Society of Cinematographers awards.
