TikTok returns to Google and Apple app stores in the US

More than a dozen US states have sued TikTok over its negative impact on children's mental health

In the United States, the social network TikTok is again available in the Google and Apple app stores. Politico writes about it, citing sources.

Apple restored the application after a letter from Attorney General Pam Bondi, in which she assured that the company does not face fines for violating the law that banned TikTok in the United States.

Google and Apple removed the app from their online stores after the ban on TikTok took effect on January 19. TikTok was not downloadable in both stores even when President Donald Trump signed an executive order suspending the ban.

Trump’s executive order also directed the Attorney General to “send each provider a letter stating that they have not violated the statute and are not liable” for reopening TikTok. Pam Bondi was sworn in a week ago.
