US presidential candidate Donald Trump has declared victory in the election, although the official vote count is still ongoing. According to various American media outlets, Trump is leading the presidential race, and world leaders are already congratulating him on his victory.
“This is a political victory like our country has never seen before,” Republican Trump said in a speech to supporters in Florida.
Trump said he was winning all the key “swing” states and would allegedly secure 315 electoral votes.
He says that under his presidency, the country will see a “golden age” and that he will fight for US citizens and their families every day.
Trump’s victory in the election was announced by Fox, a TV channel that traditionally supports Republicans.
According to the channel’s calculations, Trump is winning in the critical “swing” state of Pennsylvania, which brought him 267 electoral votes out of the required 270. He also won in Wisconsin with 277 votes. The TV station says that Trump won 277 electoral votes in total. The Democratic Party representative allegedly received a small 226 electoral votes.
Apart from Fox, none of the major TV channels and agencies involved in vote counting have declared Trump the winner in either Wisconsin or Pennsylvania.
However, various global media outlets predict Trump’s victory and Harris’s defeat. Thus, the Associated Press and The New York Times gave the Republicans 267 electoral votes, and CNN and NBC News – 266. According to the same media, Kamala Harris has 214, 188, and 194 electoral votes, respectively, while to win the US presidential election, she needs at least 270 electoral votes.
