Trump postpones TikTok ban in the US for the fourth time

Donald Trump officially became the 47th President of the United States

US President Donald Trump postponed the TikTok ban for the fourth time on September 16. This time until December 16, 2025.

This is stated in the decree, which has already been published on the White House website.

During this time, the Department of Justice will not fine TikTok and other companies for actions that would otherwise fall under the relevant law, including the distribution and updating of applications.

The day before, on September 15, Donald Trump said that the trade meeting between the US and China went “very well.” According to the American president, the countries reached an agreement “on a certain company that the young people of our country really wanted to save”.

After that, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant said that the final decision on TikTok should be made by US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping on September 19.

However, he said, the US and China have agreed on a framework agreement to transfer ownership of TikTok’s American units.
