The wealth of the world’s ten richest people increased by a record $64 billion in one day, thanks to Donald Trump’s victory in the US presidential election.
Bloomberg writes about it.
The net worth of billionaires led by Elon Musk increased by $63.5 billion on Wednesday, November 6. This is the largest daily increase since Bloomberg’s wealth index was created in 2012.
On this day, Elon Musk added another $26.5 billion to his $290.3 billion fortune. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos’ wealth increased by 3.2% to $228.3 billion, and Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison’s wealth increased by 5.4% to $193.5 billion.
Most of the world’s wealthiest people’s profits come from the growth of US stocks. Besides Musk, other growth leaders are crypto millionaires. Brian Armstrong, co-founder and CEO of the Coinbase crypto exchange, increased his capital by 30% to $11 billion. Changpeng Zhao, the founder of the world’s largest crypto exchange, Binance, increased his wealth by $12.1 billion to $52.7 billion.
