United Airlines has announced the launch of a new option for economy-class passengers – “Relax Row” – which will debut in 2027. It will allow you to create a full-fledged reclining seat without moving to business or first class.
This is an opportunity to buy three adjacent economy-class seats at once. Each of them will be equipped with a footrest that can be raised to form a flat surface for relaxation. In addition, passengers will be provided with a mattress, blanket, and two pillows, and for traveling with children, also a soft toy.
The option is available for one person, a couple, or a family of three. On each aircraft, up to 12 rows will be allocated to “Relax Row”.
The format is designed for passengers who are willing to pay extra for the comfort of the economy class cabin, but do not want to buy tickets in more expensive classes.
By 2030, United Airlines plans to introduce “Relax Row” on more than 200 Boeing 787 and 777 aircraft.
