Apple is preparing to release an updated line of iPad Pro tablets and a completely redesigned base MacBook Pro. According to Bloomberg, the new devices may be introduced as early as the first half of 2027. They will be part of the company’s large-scale product update planned for the iPhone’s 20th anniversary.
According to sources, Apple is testing four new iPad Pro models, with their presentation expected in the spring of 2027. The tablets will retain their current display sizes: 11 and 13 inches.
The main changes will affect the internal equipment. The new iPad Pro will receive faster processors. In addition, the company has previously tested a cooling system with an evaporation chamber for them, which should provide more stable performance under high load and reduce overheating.
Apple is also working on an updated base MacBook Pro codenamed K104. Its release is expected in the first half of 2027. The laptop will have a 14-inch display and a completely new design. According to Bloomberg, it will be made in the style of the upcoming flagship MacBooks with touch screens, the presentation of which is expected at the end of this year or early next year.
At the same time, the company completed the development of another version of the basic MacBook Pro, codenamed J804, a few months ago. It was planned for release this year with the usual design, but featuring a new M6 processor. The last time the basic MacBook Pro model was updated was in October 2025.
According to sources, Apple also plans to introduce its first M7 processor in the first half of 2027. The company wants to move from the M6generation to the M7 as soon as possible, as it is adapting its chips to perform more complex artificial intelligence tasks.
At the same time, Apple is facing a shortage of memory and silicon components, which is affecting supply chains. As a result, the release dates for individual devices may change. Last week, the company also raised prices on all Mac and iPad models.
If the new products are presented as planned in the first half of 2027, they will join a large line of new Apple products. Among them are the second-generation iPhone Air with improved cameras and batteries, as well as the basic iPhone 18.
Apple is increasingly choosing spring to launch new devices to more evenly distribute sales throughout the year. So, in March, the company released the iPhone 17e, MacBook Neo, updated monitors, new MacBook Air, updated MacBook Pro, and new processors.
According to Bloomberg, 2027 could be one of the most saturated years for Apple. By the 20th anniversary of the iPhone, the company is also preparing an anniversary smartphone model, a second-generation foldable iPhone, its first pair of smart glasses, and new smart home devices.
