Former US President Joe Biden has signed a contract with the Los Angeles talent agency Creative Artists Agency (CAA), representing his interests from 2017 to 2020, and now has become the first step in shaping his career after the presidency. This was reported by the BBC.
“President Biden is one of America’s most respected and influential voices in national and global affairs. His lifelong commitment to public service is one of unity, optimism, dignity, and opportunity. We are honored to work with him again,” commented CAA Co-Chair Richard Lovett.
Joe Biden has largely kept his plans for his future career quiet after 50 years in public service, but as he left the U.S. White House, he said: “We are leaving office, we are not leaving the fight.”
So far, there are no signs that Biden is preparing a new book or project. In 2017, during his previous contract with a talent agency, he published a memoir, Promise Me, Dad: A Year of Hope, Hardship, and Purpose.
The memoir was about the loss of his eldest son, Beau. According to the New York Times, it became a number-one bestseller. It prompted Biden to embark on the American Promise book tour, which could have been part of his presidential campaign.
Former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama also partner with CAA, which has led to the creation of award-winning films and television shows, including the Oscar-winning documentary American Factory.
In addition, former presidential candidate and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton signed a contract with CAA to present her books, including Hard Choices, which tells the story of her tenure as the US chief diplomat.
