China unveils the world's first 10G network

Huawei and China Unicom have launched the world’s first 10G broadband network in Xun’anthe district of Hebei province. The network has a download speed of 9834 Mbps. This was reported by Mydrivers.

It is built on a 50G PON optical network, which allows it to increase the bandwidth to 10 gigabits per second while reducing the delay to only 3 milliseconds.

The test was conducted in the field, in the home of an ordinary user. During the tests, the actual download speed on the network reportedly reached 9834 Mbps, and the upload speed was 1008 Mbps.

The user shared his impressions: “It used to take several minutes to download a 4K movie, but now it only takes a few seconds.”

At the same time, the network worked smoothly when several smart devices were used simultaneously at home, and 8K video playback, ultra-fast cloud-based eSports games, and smart home systems worked stably.

It is also noted that some users have already tested broadband Internet access when an 8K movie of about 90 GB was downloaded in 72 seconds. At the same time, when using a network with gigabit access, the same operation would take about 12 minutes.
