World football legend Cristiano Ronaldo is making his film debut. The striker of the Portuguese national team and the Saudi club Al-Nasr will star in the feature television series Day 1s, The Sun reports.
The new drama project will tell the fictional story of influential British football agent Stanley Dalton. It is known that the plot was based on the original idea of real football agent Darren Dane, who also joined the team of executive producers. Filming of Day 1s has already started in London.
The main role in the series will be played by the winner of the Golden Globe, Damien Lewis; in addition to Ronaldo, another football legend will appear in the project – Thierry Henry, as well as British rapper Dave.
It is worth noting that for Cristiano, this series will be a double debut. Not only will he make his acting debut, but he will also serve as an executive producer on the project. Day 1s will be the first television project from URMarv Studios, which the footballer founded with British director Matthew Vaughn, the author of the Kingsman franchise and the producer of the cult film Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.
Ronaldo himself called participation in the project a new stage in his professional career.
