Disney, like other American corporations, is reviewing its policy of diversity, equality, and inclusion. This is referring to the letter sent by the company’s management to its employees, reports the Axios portal.
The document states that Disney is changing its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs to focus more on business results. The changes, though less severe than those unveiled by the rest of the U.S. companies in recent weeks indicate pressure on brands trying to adjust to the new expectations of President Donald Trump’s second term in office.
According to information available to Axios, Disney will drop the diversity factor that influenced executive compensation at the start of the fiscal year and replace it with another that should be more focused on commercial success. The disclaimers displayed in front of older cartoons will also be changed.
On February 6, it was reported that Google Corporation of America will not consider DEI priorities when hiring.
Earlier, the U.S. Department of Education put employees who attended diversity and inclusion courses on paid leave.
