Google offered employees voluntary redundancy if they were not satisfied with the pace of work

From iPhone 16 to UEFA: what was most often googled in the world

Google offered some US business unit employees voluntary redundancy with compensation, citing changes in the pace of work and a focus on AI development.

This was announced in an internal letter to employees by the company’s Chief Business Officer, Philip Schindler.

In the letter, the director noted that the unit’s employees should be “fully engaged” in the company’s mission and should implement artificial intelligence more actively.

For those who “are not happy with the pace at which we need to work” or “are ready to move on outside of Google,” the company is launching a voluntary redundancy program for certain positions in the US. It applies to employees working on business solutions, sales, and corporate development.

At the same time, large teams working with key customers and other customer-facing roles are not covered by the program. The company explained this by the desire to minimize risks for partners and customers.
