In collaboration with Universal, Lego Group has revealed plans to release its first official building sets inspired by DreamWorks’ animated franchise “Shrek” to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the first film’s premiere. This product line includes a main set featuring minifigures of Shrek, Donkey, and Puss in Boots, styled as a swamp, complete with a sign reading “Beware of Ogre!”
The set’s elements reference the film’s narrative motifs, such as sunflowers, an onion, and a blue flower adorned with red thorns. Additionally, the interior of the Shrek figure contains hidden “Easter egg” components. Moreover, the collection introduces a LEGO Shrek BrickHeadz series, featuring modular versions of Shrek, Donkey, and the Gingerbread Man, stylized with icing-like details.
Preorders for these collections are now available, with official sales beginning on June 1 through LEGO’s official stores and website. Notably, this marks the first appearance of “Shrek” franchise characters in LEGO’s product range, coinciding with the anniversary of one of DreamWorks Animation’s most iconic series.
