Orlando Bloom has decided to take a serious step after breaking up with Katy Perry. The 48-year-old British actor announced that he has officially applied for an Irish passport.
The star of “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “The Lord of the Rings” explained that both professional and personal factors pushed him to this decision. Bloom mentioned that his grandfather is from Northern Ireland; therefore, the new document will not only strengthen family ties but also open the door to work in Europe.
Bloom emphasized that the EU passport will make his life much easier during filming. He recalled working in the Czech Republic, when he had to waste time on paperwork.
Currently, Bloom is promoting a new film project, “The Price of Victory”, in which he plays an Irish boxer. The premiere is scheduled for September 5.
