The criminal proceedings against the scandalous rapper P. Diddy for rape and sex trafficking are taking an unexpected turn, as one of the lawyers, Anthony Ricco, has decided to leave the defense team and not participate in attempts to acquit the artist.
Although Ricco did not give any reasons for his request to withdraw from the case, he wrote: “Under no circumstances can I continue to work effectively as Sean Combs’ attorney.” The judge must grant the former rapper’s defense attorney’s motion before he is officially dismissed.
Despite losing his defense lawyer, P. Diddy still has five others to defend him, including his lead attorney, Mark Anifilo.
It should be noted that Combs is currently behind bars, and the court hearing is scheduled for May 5.
