Pentagon Cuts Ties with Harvard

The US suspends $60 million in grants to Harvard over anti-Semitism

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the Pentagon is ending all professional military education, fellowship, and certificate programs with Harvard University.

Starting in the 2026-27 academic year, the Pentagon will end professional military education at the graduate level, as well as fellowships and certificate programs, the statement said. Personnel currently attending Harvard will be able to complete those courses.

Hegseth criticized the university as “one of the hottest centers of anti-American activism.” The Pentagon chief called Harvard a radical left-wing institution that seeks to undermine the US military.

He said that in two weeks, the Army, Navy, and Air Force branches will evaluate all current military programs at all Ivy League universities and other civilian universities.
