Prince Andrew renounces title of Duke of York

The brother of Britain’s King Charles III, Prince Andrew, has announced his decision to renounce all honorary titles he received from his mother, the late Queen Elizabeth II.

The prince, whose name has repeatedly appeared in the press in connection with the scandalous case of American financier and convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, said that this move was “the next logical step” after the previous one: five years ago, he ceased to perform his public duties as a member of the royal family.

From now on, Andrew will no longer use the titles of Duke of York and Knight of the Order of the Garter. At the same time, as the son of the late Queen, he retains the title of prince and remains eighth in line to the British throne.
