American singer Taylor Swift “opened her heart and wallet” by writing seven-figure checks to various charities that fight hunger, cardiovascular disease, and issues faced by artists.
According to published statements, the artist donated $1 million to Feeding America, another $1 million to the American Heart Association (AHA), and also made a “generous donation” to the Recording Academy’s MusiCares charity.
Swift’s donation to the American Heart Association also has a personal dimension. In June, her father, Scott Swift, underwent quintuple coronary bypass surgery.
The singer’s donation was also reported by Feeding America. The organization’s CEO said the team is “incredibly grateful” for the support.
The two-time ACM Artist of the Year winner’s donation will go to ACM Lifting Lives. This initiative supports musicians facing financial hardship due to health issues.
